The Club


Wynyard is a small town on the North West coast of Tasmania and has a population of around 5,000.

Established in 1961 the Wynyard Yacht Club Clubhouse, is situated near the mouth of the Inglis River, which opens onto Bass Strait

Nearby the club is a boat launching ramp and floating jetty between installed by Marine and Safety Tasmania and avaliable for public use.

The club is well established with 100 members.

The cub is a Marine Rescue Unit, and members of the Tasmanian Canoe club are welcome to join

The club owns 21 yachts and support craft and has conducted many state and National Championships, and produced 5 national champions and a world Champion.

Training is a key component of the Wynyard Yacht Club  which is an acxcredited Yachting Australia Discover Sailing Centre  with and conducts Tackers, Discover Sailing, Start Sailing training, Sailability and Racing throughout the summer. WYC are also accredited by MAST to deliver power boat licences.

The Clubhouse is fully accessible and has showers, toilets, kitchen and BBQ facilities as well as an upstairs meeting hall. Boats and sailing equipment are stored downstairs.

Meetings are held on the 2nd Thursday of every month in the clubhouse from 7.30 p.m
