The Wynyard Yacht Club is located in the small rural village of Wynyard on North West coast of Tasmania. The club is situated near the mouth of the Inglis river and opens onto Bass Strait, with club house rigging area, two boat ramps and floating jetty. Sailing craft range from Sabots, dingys, Catermarans, Trailer Sailors, Cruising keelboats. The club has conducted many state and National Championships, and produced 5 national champions. Sailing is on Saturdays with causal and junior sailing typically starting at 10am and racing at 2pm. The Wynyard Yacht Club is an acxcredited Yachting Australia Discover Sailing Centre which conducts Tackers, Discover Sailing, Start Sailing, Start Racing and power boat licence courses throughout the year. Sailability Tasmania is a voluntary non-profit organisation that aims to provide a safe and friendly environment where people of all abilities are accepted and encouraged to participate in the sport of sailing. We welcome people without regard to age, ability, gender or socio-economic status as sailors or volunteers.
Takers courses aims to provide children aged 7-12 with a fun, safe way to get into sailing. This year we are doing Takers 1, 2 and 3 simply choose the course that best fits with you experience from complete beginner to learning advanced skills.
